Chilean Serials 1916-1924

1. Avro 504K
Serial no. 75, J. Abelardo Nunez, Servicio de Aviacion Militar de Chile, 1922. Finished in PC10 Doped Linen on uppersurfaces, and Clear Doped Linen on the lower surfaces, with Black cowling and fuselage panels, this machine carries the serial number '75' and text 'J. ABELARDO NUNEZ' in Black on White fields. This machine was purchased with the aid of a Public School Collection. No. 75 crashed on 4 June 1922 killing its pilot, Lt. Alfredo Bravo Romero.

2. Airco DH9
Serial no. 91, Tacna, Servicio de Aviacion Militar de Chile, 1922-24. Finished in PC10 Doped Linen on uppersurfaces, and Clear Doped Linen on the lower surfaces, this machine also has Light Grey forward fuselage panels. The rudder is Blue with a White star. Chilean shields are carried in four wing positions. The serial number '91' and text 'TACNA' are in White. This machine took part in a long-distance 'raid' between Santiago-Tacna-Santiageo in February and March 1924.
