Early Latvian Aircraft

1. Sopwith Strutter
Latvian Air Regiment, circa 1926. Serial no. 2 in Black and outlined in White. Aircraft is Dark Green overall, with Clear Doped Linen finish to undersides of flying surfaces and rudder. Cowling and front panels are finished in Dark Green. The later style of Latvian Ugunskrusts insignia is used here and is in Dark Red. It appears on a White circle in all six positions.

2. Sopwith Strutter
Latvian Air Regiment, circa 1919. Serial no. unknown. Aircraft is Dark Green overall, with Clear Doped Linen finish to undersides of flying surfaces. Cowling and front panels are finished in Natural Metal. The first style of Latvian insignia used here consists of Dark Red/White/Dark Red bands as shown here, also appearing on the lower wing under surface.

3. Sopwith 2F.1 Camel
Latvian Air Regiment, circa 1919-20. Serial no. 9 in White. The old British serial N 8187 is in Black on White. Aircraft is Dark Green overall, with Clear Doped Linen or Pale Blue finish to undersides of flying surfaces. Cowling and front panels are finished in Dark Green, with the Natural Metal underneath beginning to wear through. The intermediate style of Latvian Ugunskrusts insignia used here is in Dark Red and appears on either a White square or circle.
