Peruvian Air Arms 1920-1930


1. Airco DH9
Serial no. unknown, Las Palmas, 1922. Aircraft is Light Grey overall with Natural Metal forward engine panels and cowling. Struts are Natural Varnished Wood. Peruvian roundels in Red and White are carried in four wing positions. Roundels on upper wing surfaces carry a fine White outline. Rudder carries Red and White stripes. Text on fuselage in Black reads F-C (Ferrocarril) Central (Central Railroad of Peru), which raised funds for this machine's purchase.


2. Avro 504K
Serial no. 1, Las Palmas, 1923. Aircraft is finished in Clear Doped linen overall with Natural Metal/Light Grey forward fuselage decking, Black cowling and Dark Green side engine panels. Struts and undercarriage legs are Natural Varnished Wood. Peruvian roundels in Red and White are carried in four wing positions. Rudder carries Red and White stripes. Text on fuselage reads Magisterio Nacional (National Teaching) and is in Black. Serial number is Black.


3. Bristol F.2B
Serial no. unknown, Las Palmas, 1923. Aircraft is finished in Dark Green on fuselage, upper flying surfaces and fin. Forward fuselage panels are Natural Metal. Lower flying surfaces and wheel covers are Clear Doped Linen. Peruvian roundels in Red and White are carried in four wing positions and on the fuselage sides. Upper wing and fuselage roundels have a fine White outer stripe. Rudder carries Red and White stripes.
